As a small to medium-sized business owner, it makes sense for you to work with a CPA who has extensive experience in your world . . . working as an entrepreneur.
Not every lesson can be taught in a classroom.
It’s the same reason that every one of the 23 managers in the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame first played professional baseball. In fact, 86 percent of the greatest managers the game has ever seen, played at the major league level. That’s 20 out of 23. Two of the others played in the minor leagues. And the third, Rube Walker, is considered by many baseball historians to be the best pitcher in the Negro League in the early 1900’s; in addition to playing, he founded and managed the Chicago American Giants, one of the most successful Negro League baseball teams of the pre-integration era.
Professional football has a similar story. Of the 24 head coaches in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, only two didn’t have extensive playing experience. And 17 played in the NFL or its predecessor organizations.
Why is that?
Because if you played the game, you know first hand what it takes to succeed.
